The one million dollar sound

As a musician I create sounds to express emotions and open the hearts of my audience. So it’s easy to understand that finding that unique voice and tone is at the center of what I’m doing. There’s a lot around making music, performing and building a business out of it, that requires skills, endurance and hard work and you won’t get around getting some help and support here and there. Still the foremost thing that will decide on how successful you are will be your sound.

It’s about personality!

With the sound comes your personality – everything that makes you who you are. It’s about what’s important to you, what in life makes you connect with your surroundings. It’s about what you have to say and how honest you are about that. That’s where your story starts to unfold to create a room, a space for your sound to resonate.

All of this takes time and there is no number to tell you how long it takes. But it’s important for you to take all the time necessary because it’s worth it. Finding your own sound, your voice and tone is a path which provides endless rewards because it’s a path to fulfillment, to self-awareness and joy. At this point it’s probably easy to understand, that your unique sound is priceless!

So as soon as you think, that you resonate with the music, the sound and the idea of what you’re creating, you should reward yourself. Reward yourself with anything that suits you. Call your sound priceless, call it the one million dollar sound but know your worth. It’s not about what you get paid in the end but how your audience values what you do.

For me it took about 200€ for a guitar, 200€ for some effects and 20 years of time to create my sound, the sound of blu12, my one million dollar sound. And if your were to calculate it down in detail, you might find it to be worth even more.

Last but not least it’s always about the path your on rather than about the destination you’re trying to reach. My sound is always changing in a never-ending process of reinventing myself and maybe this way I manage to keep it fresh and full of life to inspire others to make it worth every cent once more.
