Finding your voice, your sound, your style – whatever it is – isn’t always easy. In fact I’d say it is one of the hardest things at all. Some people take a lifetime to find “it”, some have it right from the start. It very much depends on where you’re coming from and who you are.
I admit, I belong to the ones who take a little bit longer. After all it’s not just about finding your style. Oftentimes it’s also about finding out who you really are, where you want to get to, what life means to you and where you find your place to grow.
2020 – in this respect has been good for me. It gave me plenty of time to think about the essentials of my music. Don’t get me wrong: most of it oftentimes is already there – almost right at your fingertips. But getting it out, making it sound may take some effort.
blu12 means love, life, change, depth and truth. It’s the combination of finding the rarest, purest and simplest expression and filling it with some sparkle or glitter, sometimes a little bit more space. It’s about giving the music as well as the ideas of the songs more room to evolve, more room to be.
All that ultimately leads to the vision of blu12: finding love, making it sound through words and music, giving it space. I don’t just want to sing of love, I want to make love through music. I want to create life through sound, start change through singing, find depth in letting it grow, searching for truth by letting it have an effect on others and myself.
