Change has to come

change is coming

In my life I have always stood up for things that were important to me. I stood my ground, voiced my opinion and informed myself. I always incorporated my values and ideas for a world worth living in into my art. Especially in the last six years I intentionally worked hard to include relevant topics into my work. It is important to me to not just talk about sustainability, open-mindedness and tolerance on stage, but to live it myself.

Still until now I have never been actively participating in a public demonstration. Today this has changed. For me it was just an affair of the heart and a matter of course to support the global climate strike, organized by Fridays for Future. Today I purposely went to a demonstration for the first time and I didn’t regret it. I’m proud to be part of this important movement for our future.

life is change

Life is change and this change is more than overdue in many areas. Today for me was a new part of my life. Emotionally moved and united by the core of this movement I regard this kind of engagement as my privilege and my obligation as a free citizen. Even though I do have my own views and opinions on things which may not align with everything Friday for Future says, still we all have one goal: to save our future by tackling the climate crisis. We have to protest until the people in charge really act up to their responsibility. And for that it’s not about the details, it’s about the greater goal.

bigger, louder, our generation!

Todays climate strike probably was the globally biggest strike ever and I sincerely hope that it will get even bigger and louder. Therefore I want to give my musical voice as well as our capabilities as the duo mitossi to push this movement even further.

Who do you want to be? Where do you want to be? With which people do you want to surround yourself? I informed myself on topics such as sustainability, climate and similar for years now. Oftentimes the perceptions and reports are quite disillusioning and devastating. But one thing, all of those documentaries, blogs or videos have in common: they all are calling for us to engage ourselves and get active. Look for active people around you, find out where you can be part of that change and do your part. And that’s exactly where I want to go to. Those are the kinds of people I want to surround myself with. I want to take a stand for those important topics because they are essential and existential. I’m sick of people who just close their eyes pretending everything is just fine and I’m also sick of people trying to legitimate their own resignation with their negativity. We are the generation that has to start the change. That has always been that way and it will always be that way, only that today we can already feel the consequences of „not acting“ and already have to pay for it.

So I really hope we’ll meet on one of those upcoming demonstrations, strikes or festivals for change, because: we only have one planet and we are one humanity!
