Paradise Express Podcast Show 3

LIFE IS IMPROVISATION – this is probably the most important message of the first part of this episode of Paradise Express. The place was just gorgeous, the weather was perfect and we were in the front row with the “Endless Sunset Stage”. The podcast was about to start when a hiker came and asked if there would be a concert here. So I just let go and started playing. However, at that time I had not set up any boxes or amps. Accordingly, anything I would play on effects or through the loop station would not be audible to my one-man audience. So I just played unplugged. That’s why there are two parts of Paradise Express this time. In the second part I play roughly the same idea, only including effects and a loop station. In the future, of course, I plan to always set up a box so that everyone in front of the stage has the same musical experience.

The music is completely improvised this time, but a little inspired by my song “The sound of wood, steel & love” and by Bruce Springsteen’s “The Rising”. Bruce Springsteen is probably my greatest idol and has helped me through many a crisis. It doesn’t bother me at all that you can hear his influence here and there in my work. On the contrary – art thrives on mutual inspiration and, strictly speaking, every artist also copies to a certain extent what someone has done before them. Only his own touch, his unmistakable combination of these inspirations makes each individual artist special and unique. Only the moment in which you acknowledge and allow these influences gives you the opportunity to create something truly great. And that doesn’t just apply to music!
