Music for oceanlovers

What kind of music do you play? How do you sound? What inspires you?

All these and many more questions have been asked so many times. There was always something I would say, sometimes good, sometimes rather cryptic. Sometimes I would just feel so bad about not bringing it to the point, giving my music the words it deserved. I’ve been a writer for all my life, so this problem was even more stressing to me.

But I found a solution which might help you as well finding the right words to your creative projects. It sure took some time and lot of experimenting, but here it comes:

That’s not the whole story, but here are two things to consider when trying to find the words that fit you best:

  • Write down every idea or even use it and show it to others. You need to get one thought out for another (maybe better) one to follow.
  • Incorporate your inspiration. What inspires you may also inspire others.

ambient acoustic rock

So today I can describe my music very easily as “ambient acoustic rock”. I’m a rocker at heart, I play an acoustic 12-string guitar (blu12  😉 ) and use ambient sounds and effects to give my music the layers I am looking for. Ambient acoustic rock is also quite easy to imagine since I used common categories and combined them to fit me. Sure, creative neologisms may also be an idea, but who says, that this description will be my last? Always focus on what’s most important to you right now. For me it’s that everybody gets a quick idea of what I’m doing without me having to explain that much.

What about “music for oceanlovers”? That’s where my inspiration comes from – the ocean. I’m an oceanlover myself and I love spending time at the shore including taking photos (Check out my book “Winzige Welten“!) Of course my music is open for everybody, but I like the idea, that I can attract like-minded people to maybe share more than just my music.

What do you think? What inspires you to be creative?
