Paradise Express – Episode 2

Paradise Express Podcast Show – Episode 2

Wow, what a session! The location of the second episode of Paradise Express was just gorgeous – in every way. Great beach, great rocks, a great panorama and a fantastic interplay of clouds and sun.

But it was windy – very windy, as you can easily see in the video. It was less annoying while playing and even the mic didn’t pick up nearly as much noise as I was expecting. But the pedalboard didn’t keep up with the gusts until the end: towards the end of the song, the entire upper part of the suitcase was blown off the van. Lucky in misfortune: The cable for the LED light in the upper part was not connected. This allowed the top part to fly away without tearing the entire pedalboard with it. You don’t see that in the video itself. In the future only with a headwind or appropriate security!

The song in the video is called “The Spark” – here are the lyrics:

The Spark

Gentle earthquakes
create waves –
perfect alignment
of all inner events,
gettting closer
to mental lockdown –
preventing
energy overload.

Slowly turning towards
southbound roads,
backstreets along the coast.

May southern smiles
melt what’s been strained,
may otherworldly styles
hold what’s about to burst.

And your life will feed the air,
your voice will clear our minds,
your shine will let the colors rain,
your love will explode
like light in the dark –
like a wonderful aurora
to ignite the spark.

For this second session on the “Endless Sunset Stage” I now had enough time to set everything up as planned: The microphone stand anchored in the stage, the pedalboard next to it, as well as the guitar stand – although I only used this for the first “scene” in the video. It was just too windy. What will be the next challenge? Maybe rain? Let’s see.

So stay tuned to see where the Paradise Express will take me in the future and feel free to come on board:
