THAT’S IT | 6, drugs & rock’n’roll? – Volume 20

„6, drugs & rock’n’roll? Let’s rock all 12!“ – Volume 20

Cheerioh …

Calling all wannabe rockers, part-time art enthusiasts, fans, friends, stalkers, etc.: It’s time for some serious spring cleaning! This is now the 20th edition of my “new” newsletter “6, drugs & Rock’n’Roll? Let’s rock all 12!”. A lot has changed in the last 20 editions. This format originally came from my live music newsletter. For some of you, I have already played at a birthday party or a wedding, for example. I know others as fellow musicians or from completely different contexts.

things change

In the meantime, this is hardly about my service as a cover musician anymore, but rather about my musical art figure blu12, my own music and my personal journey as an artist. In the future I want to continue on this path and stay true to the title of this newsletter. So time to clean up. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has subscribed to this newsletter and read it with interest every month.

Technically, however, the newsletter is only opened by about 50% of the subscribers. On the one hand, this is due to spam folders and outdated addresses, but on the other hand it may also be due to a lack of time or a lack of interest. Therefore I will delete all subscribers after this issue (or before the next one in June) – spring cleaning, with the tube amp at the limit!

Are you interested in what I do, write and think here? Then just send me a short email à la: “I’m still there”, “I definitely need more Rock’n’Roll in the future”, “You’re amazing – let me be part of your breakthrough”, “yolo – popcorn ready for the next issue”. And zack you are still part of it!

There is a small preview below in the backstage diary.

blu12 perspective

Every month there is my very personal point of view at this point: today the view of the Atlantic ocean at sunset. I try to watch the sunset as often as possible – no matter where I am. It’s amazing how much it can bring about when you take that little moment of every day.

News in short:

blu12 backstage diary

In the span of the last 20 issues of this newsletter, more has happened than I would possibly like to give myself credit for. I’ve probably always been ahead of my own life reality – had values that I haven’t fully expressed, opinions that I’ve held back, attitudes that haven’t completely covered my actions. It always takes a little longer for things to really seep through and manifest positively. Everything that has opened up to me internally over the last year I will (have to) implement in the next one to two years. This includes the following topics:

Music

In the next year or two I want to say goodbye to cover music as one of my main sources of income. I’ve achieved a lot in this area: played in front of 10-10,000 people; on construction sites, in allotment gardens, pompous halls, restaurants; for disinterested passers-by and enthusiastic party-goers; for two to four-digit fees; for 5 minutes or more than 5 hours at a time. I would say I’ve earned my spurs in that area. In the future, however, I only want to play in this context where I really want to and enjoy it – that’s the only way to keep the passion alive.

Crazy Heart Tour

A heart project that I have already mentioned here is the Crazy Heart Tour. In the future, I would like to use cross-financing, funding and sponsoring to go much more to places where culture is really needed, where gratitude and appreciation are still very important and where I can achieve more with my art. In the face of the current and coming crises, everyone has to ask themselves the question: what can I contribute to a future worth living? For me, the Crazy Heart Tour is one answer to this question.

mitossi

At mitossi, we are currently gradually converting the entire children’s theater division into a social enterprise. The framework for this is the Crazy Heart Tour. Here, too, we want to get away from the pure booking track in order to create a new environment for our ideas. In addition, a new show is being created (which is already independent of the service market). If you want to get an idea of it, just have a look at the website www.mitossi.net or directly on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/mitossi.entertainment), where we regularly upload new reels – which means you get a pretty good picture of the idea of the show.

Paradise Express

Art needs freedom, change and a bit of uncompromisingness. So far we have achieved all these points quite well with our increasingly larger tours in the “Paradise Express”. Being on the road opens up many new possibilities, more focus and more adventure. But the way we travel has its limits – specifically in the size of our Tourvan. We use this to our advantage by strictly limiting what has space on board: blu12, mitossi and the Crazy Heart Tour!

With this in mind we’ll (hopefully) read each other in exactly one month when „6, drugs & Rock’n’Roll? We rock all 12!“ is back.
